In Search of Crumble MixSomeone's idea of a holiday!Since 1987, we have spent one or two weeks holiday a year in Majorca. Some people find it strange that we should choose to return each year to the same place. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, for us, holidays are primarily for relaxation, not adventure and visiting the same part of the same island means we do not have to spend time acclimatising and finding out where everything is. The second and most important reason is that we both love the North of Majorca and especially the Pollenca area. To many people, Majorca is characterised by lager louts, high-rise hotels and 'British pubs'. Majorca certainly has these in abundance but if you drive to the North of the island you will find the 'real Majorca' with stunning mountain scenery, small villages and unspoilt coastline.
For no readily apparent reason, one year I decided to keep a diary of our holiday and here it is. It was mostly written (or typed to be more accurate) by myself with the odd paragraph added by my wife Jill. It may amuse you, annoy you or put you to sleep but at the end of the day you don't have to read it! |
