In Search of Crumble MixSaturday 11th MayWoke up at the ungodly hour of 5 am but as we had gone to bed so early the night before we were quite refreshed. Uneventful trip to the airport and for once we managed to find a parking space that wasn't three miles from the entrance! Although check-in wasn't supposed to start till 7.45, there were long queues at our desks at 7.30. By some miracle I actually chose the right queue and we moved quite quickly to the front. As usual I was worried that the girl would object to the fact that one of our suitcases was miles over the allowance but she didn't seem to care. The plane was delayed by about three-quarters of an hour, but they didn't tell us about this until we were sat on the thing. I landed up with a baby sat next to me, fortunately, it was quiet and slept most of the journey. There was another baby further down the plane that did nothing but cry, if that had been sat next to me I would have put a fist in its mouth. Arrived safely in Palma and wonder of wonders we were able to get a luggage trolley and the suitcases came off very quickly. So before long we were in our Peugeot 106 'Kid' on our way to Pollenca.
By this time the rain was bucketing down, surely we won't have a repeat of October 93 when we spent the best part of a week watching the rain create waterfalls on the mountainside and listening to the rhythm of the drips of water coming through the roof into our entire collection of pots and saucepans! |
